desktop wireless to NDS

Postby Arishon » Mon Sep 15, 2008 4:36 pm

Ok this prolly ain;t the place for this but the forum says support in it...
I want to connect my NDS to my desktop through my wireless nic, and have the ds recieve internet. I've had countless routers but they either die or burn up. I've tried ad-hoc, but I do not think the DS understands it.. is there any other method of turning a pc into a Access Point that will talk to the DS?

About 10 posts below yours - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1972

I can't guarantee this as I don't have a wireless network.
After some people laughed at the name of the Wii, Nintendo have decided to avoid similar childish snickering with their next handheld console -
"Personal Entertainment: Nintendo Immersion System"

The box said "Requires Windows Vista or better" so I got a Mac :P

You can't unless you have one specific wireless card.

Someone made a driver that will interface one specific wireless chipset with the DS (and the chipset is not made anymore)

So basically you have 3 options

1. Find a network board with the right chipset and get the driver from the net
2. Buy the usb dongle that Big N makes just for that purpose.
3. Write a driver for your own wireless card to get it to work.

A link to a page that tells you about the one wireless board that will work and the driver.

Is your best bet. I have seen them in the stores but they are getting rarer. Pretty sure you could get one off the net still.

yea after speaking with linksys the guy said the card could technically be made to do it, but unless I did the codding it wasn't goin to happen... and sadly I don't care that much... I'll prolly just get the usb thing.
